Strip LED Tunable White

How much light does an LED strip make?

LED lamps have a number of advantages over incandescent and CFL bulbs for lighting spaces, including longer life, lower heat emissions, energy efficiency, and a wide variety of colors and shades available. For this reason they are among the most suitable indoor lighting systems.

LED strips

LED strips are not all the same. Some are more efficient than others and some are more powerful.

A good quality LED strip should provide at least 1500 lumens per meter, which is about the same amount of light per foot as a conventional T8 fluorescent lamp. (For example, 1 meter of T8 fluorescent lamp = 1 meter of LED strip = 1800 lumens.) This number represents how many lumens of light are emitted from an LED strip per meter (see below for a quick explanation of lumen units).

There are three main factors that determine the brightness of an LED strip:

  • The light output and efficiency per LED emitter
  • The number of LEDs per foot
  • The power consumption of the LED strip per foot

Beware that an LED strip without brightness specifications is a red flag.

You must also be careful of cheap LED strips that claim high brightness, because they may overload the LEDs to the point of premature failure.

LED strips are therefore the quality and certified indoor lighting systems among the most suitable today, being more efficient and safer.

LED density and power consumption what is it?

The answer is that the greater the number of LEDs per meter, the more light you will get from the strip.
As a rule of thumb, if you want to get the brightest effect possible, look for LED strips with more than 40 LEDs per meter.

This will provide even illumination over the entire area, with no dark spots or spots that are too bright.

You can find different names of LED emitters, such as 2835, 3528, 5050 or 5730.

Don’t worry too much about this, because the most important thing in an LED strip is the number of LEDs per meter and the power input per foot.

Determining the quality of LED strips

When looking for brighter LED strips for your lighting design, there are a few aspects to consider. First, make sure you know what type of light you need. Different lights have different applications and work better in different situations.

Second, think about how bright you want your led strip to be, based on the room where it will be installed and the type of decor. Some led strips have brightness controls that allow you to dim the lights or increase their brightness as needed.

Finally, you need to consider whether you need a waterproof or weatherproof led strip or whether it is designed only for indoor use.
