The right lighting design for city parks
Public parks are an important meeting area where citizens spend time relaxing with their dogs, exercising, reading on benches and many other activities that require a safe space. City parks are small oasis that enrich the city and increase its value, so it is essential that they are always cared for and suitable to welcome everyone. In this regard, lighting for public parks plays the main role in terms of making the area safe and comfortable for visitors and must be designed wisely to have a good effect.
How to design lighting for public parks
There are many urban areas that gather a large number of visitors every day, among them, public parks are the most appreciated, often enriched by beautiful monuments, fountains, flowers, trees, paths and so on. All these elements must be always well visible and the park always accessible and usable in the best conditions.
When natural light is scarce, LED technology is the perfect solution to enhance the park and offers several solutions, each suitable for different elements. The areas that certainly must always be well visible are the paths, through LED spotlights positioned at different heights, it is possible to properly illuminate the pedestrian paths without any visual pollution because the light can be directed only to the areas where it is needed.
Similarly, smaller spotlights embedded in the ground provide perfect lighting for fountains, statues and other decorative elements.
For vegetation you can install led solutions that give a wide beam lighting, usually we talk about the projection of led light at a reduced height from the ground that goes to shade horizontally hedges and flowers. As for the trees, they lend themselves well to scenic effects, it is therefore advisable to use frontal lighting to not create too many shadows and highlight the beauty of the plant.
Illuminate every urban area
We have talked about public parks, but there are many urban areas that can be enhanced with LED technology, precisely because it is available in many different solutions, for every need.
Very important areas, for example, are public parking lots and more and more cities are adopting the LED lighting system for parking lots for several reasons, first of all the security that will be guaranteed to those who leave the car and head home. Not only that, using this technology translates into a great energy and economic savings, against a very long product life and the ability to choose the most appropriate intensity for each context.
